2026 - 2027 NFL Season Preview

The 2026-2027 NFL season is upon us! The first game of week 1 kicks off in just a few days, with a rematch of last year’s 2026 Super Bowl. On Wednesday, September 9th, the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks will host the New England Patriots beginning at 5:20 PM to start the season. The 2nd game of the season is the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Super Bowl favourite Los Angeles Rams, on Thursday, September 10th, at 5:35 PM, hosted in Melbourne, Australia. This will be the 1st of 9 international games this season. Followed by 13 games on Sunday, September 13th, and the final game of week 1 on Monday, September 14th. The NFL is hosting 9 international games this season, including one in Australia, one in Brazil, six in Europe, and one in Mexico. The Schedule is as follows:

This international series includes nine games across four Continents and seven Countries. The regular season will run from September 9thtoJanuary 10th of 2027, with playoffs (Wild Card Round) beginning on January 16th of 2027. The Super Bowl is being hosted at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on February 14th, beginning at 3:30 PM (PST). The Half-Time performer has yet to be named. The NFL trade deadline for this season is November 10th. Let’s hope for an entertaining, action-packed, injury-free NFL season this year!
College Football (NCAA)
College Football has begun as well, beginning last weekend with USC defeating SJSU. The real start kicked off this weekend with 15 games on Saturday, September 5th. The defending National Champs, the Indiana Hoosiers, opened their season against North Texas with a dominant 52-16 win. Their new quarterback, Josh Hoover, showed up, throwing 13/16 for 231 YDS, 4 TDs, and 0 INT. The Texas Longhorns and Arch Manning, the 22-year-old nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, laid a beating on Texas State, winning 59-7. Arch threw for 305 YDS, 4 TDs, and 1 INT. The number 2-ranked Oregon Ducks just barely squeaked out a win over the unranked Boise State Broncos, winning 34-27. Oregon scored a 62-yard touchdown with 7:51 remaining to take the lead, ultimately holding onto it for the rest of the game. Oregon QB Dante Moore threw for a whopping 378 yards, with 3 TDs and 0 INT. Week 2 of College Football begins on Thursday, September 10th, with the number 7-ranked Miami Hurricanes facing the Florida A&M Rattlers. The biggest game of week 2 is probably the number 1-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes facing the number-5-ranked Texas Longhorns on Saturday, September 12th. The National Championship game for the 2026-2027 season is set to take place on January 25th, 2027, at Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas, Nevada, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
NHL
In the midst of a total rebuild, the Vancouver Canucks recently made a big move, signing a 20-year-old defenceman to an 8-year deal. Zeev Buium just signed an 8-year, $9.38 million AAV, $75.04 million total deal with the Vancouver Canucks. Buium was a part of the blockbuster trade last season that sent former captain Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild. Buium has played 76 games in his NHL career so far, scoring 26 points (6 goals and 20 assists), with 55 blocked shots and 28 hits. The Canucks are betting big on this young player, building their D-core around him.
